For some of us, the clutter we tidied for the spring may already be creeping back up on us just a few short months later. The shining sun of the summer makes you want to throw open the shades and let the light shine in on your workspace, however that may highlight the piles building up in the corner of your desk, telling you that the time to clean up again has arrived. The start of summer is also a good time to review your marketing materials to make sure that they are up to date and looking fresh.
In today’s fast-paced business environment, your content is always changing. This means that old materials need to be taken out of circulation or, if they have good information, updated. Next, it’s “out with the old and in with new.” Remove all of the old materials from the shelves, virtual and online locations and replace them with your newer and fresher versions. Now that’s better, however your summer cleaning is not complete yet. You need to make sure that everyone in the company, including those in satellite offices, is no longer distributing the out-of-date collateral.
Of course, it’s not just your workspace and collateral that need to be fresh, your website can also always use a good sprucing up. Designate someone to go through the content on the website and ensure that everything on it is current, accurate and looking good. If you have decided to offer new services or stop offering others, make sure that your website reflects that and is promoting what you have to offer effectively.
Summer is a great time to relax but it’s always more relaxing when you’re in a clean environment with the knowledge that all of your marketing materials are up to date and reflective of the newer you.
