There’s something about the start of spring that lights a fire under many of us to throw ourselves into spring cleaning. And with spring officially beginning this weekend, some of you may already be itching to start. Think you can only do spring cleaning at home by going through your closets, attic or garage? Think again. You can also use this sudden burst of energy (and extra hour of daylight) to take a good look at your company marketing materials to see if any of them need to be retired or perhaps just need a little touch-up.
Has your company gone through a rebranding in the couple of years? Did all of your materials get redone to reflect the new logo, new colors and perhaps even new tone of voice? Did the website? Speaking of the website, when’s the last time you really looked at it? Have any new products the company is now offering been added to your products page? If you’re no longer offering something, is it still being promoted on the website or did you take it down? Do you have a designated person on your staff who reviews the content of the website and your marketing materials on a regular basis?
Look at this time as an opportunity to review your digital and print marketing materials and see if any of them need updating or if any need to be taken out of circulation. Doing this will not only make sure your materials are current, but the endeavor might also help you realize a gap and help you identify some new materials you need to develop.
This whole experience can turn into a really nice team-building exercise. But even if it all falls to just you, keep this in mind: when you finish, you’ll have killer marketing collateral.
