Four Ideas for Earth Day
Can you believe that next week is already Earth Day? This is the 45th anniversary of Earth Day which is celebrated each year on April 22. “Bringing the poverty, development, climate and sustainability communities together to build a broader and more inclusive global movement is the theme of this year’s Earth Day,” according to the Earth Day Network.
This is a great opportunity to gather your employees together to do something fun as well as positive for the environment. And you’ll be surprised at what a morale booster it can be as well.
Some things the Network suggests as ways you and your company/organization can get involved in Earth Day include:
- Host a talk for coworkers and community members.
- Plan a day of tree planting.
- Pick up trash at a local park or beach.
- Invite an expert to educate your group or larger community about the dangers of climate change, the importance of sustainability, how to reduce your carbon footprint or on any other pressing environmental issues.
Let’s all do our part to help protect the planet. For every company and every individual what that is will be different. But no effort is too small. Even something as simple as bringing your own shopping bags to the store or printing business documents double-sided can make a difference.
